No one wants hemorrhoids because they itch, are painful, make bowel movements difficult and sometimes have to be removed by piles surgery. Home remedies work for some but when they don't work, surgery may be needed. There are different kinds of surgery. For instance, there is the Milligan-Morgan Technique. This is the most come kind of surgery for this condition. It works by using several incisions done as in the shape of a pear.
Another type of piles surgery that is done to get rid of hemorrhoids is the Ferguson Technique. With this kind of surgery, the incision is closed or partially closed. Be aware that there is often discomfort from this procedure and a stay in hospital of up to three days is often needed. Next, is the PPH technique. This procedure reduces the hemorrhoidal tissue by using a "circular stapling device. This technique is less painful than others and is pretty effective also.
Then there is the Harmonic Scalpel procedure. This kind of piles surgery is somewhat different than other procedures and is done if it is suspected that the hemorrhoids might bleed during the operation. Next is Laser Surgery. This entails using a laser bean to get rid of the hemorrhoid. This is a fairly accurate and targeted process and you may find yourself healing much quicker. Last bu t no means least, there is the Atomizing Piles surgery procedure. This piles surgery procedure reduces the size of the hemorrhoids—as in a "fine mist."This piles surgery technique causes little bleeding and usually very good results.
Piles surgery should only be considered as a last resort and other options have been exhausted first. Usually diet and prescription drugs work well for most; however, those who don't respond well to food or drugs, may need piles surgery to get relief from the pain and discomfort of the hemorrhoids. After piles surgery, pain should be expected—especially when there is a movement of the bowel. Relief from pain can usually be found from medications that are easily obtained over the counter. it is very important not to consume any medication without first talking to your doctor. Some physicians suggest soaking in a warm bath to help ease the pain. Some doctors suggest taking a softener for your stool, this will help with movement within your bowel and reduce straining which in turn can cause the piles to come back. It will take, in most cases, two weeks to feel better after the piles surgery; sometimes longer.
The patient needs to be made aware that there will probably be a certain amount of pain from the piles surgery; especially during bowel movements. Pain relief from piles surgery can also be found through medication. Do not take any new medication unless you have consulted with your doctor or pharmacist first. Also, some physicians advise soaking in a warm bath. this usually helps with calming the pain. In addition, stool softeners can prevent constipation and straining. Hemorroids have a tendency to return if there is too much straining. Surgery for hemorrhoids is usually quite effective but the patient needs to keep maintain good hygiene, eat high fiber foods, drink plenty of water and avoid constipation.
